SS-31 (Elamipretide)

SS-31 (Elamipretide) is a mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide that localizes to the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it stabilizes cardiolipin to support electron transport chain efficiency and ATP production. It is one of the few mitochondrial peptides with published human clinical trial data.

Research protocol: 600 mcg per day, subcutaneous — a healthy, well-tolerated research dose sitting just above the commonly documented community standard of 500 mcg/day, and far below the doses used in clinical mitochondrial-disease trials. Run in 12-week cycles.

• Single Cycle (12 weeks): 5 × 10mg vials (2S10) — supports 600 mcg/day for a full 12-week research cycle (~50mg total)
• Annual (2 cycles): 10 × 10mg vials (2S10) — two full 12-week cycles across the year

Reconstitution & dosing: Add 2mL of bacteriostatic water to each 10mg vial for a 5 mg/mL concentration. A 600 mcg dose is 0.12 mL — 12 units on a standard U-100 insulin syringe. Swirl gently; do not shake. Refrigerate at 2–8 °C and use within 28 days of reconstitution.
