Melanotan I
Melanotan I (afamelanotide) is a synthetic analogue of alpha-MSH (α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone) studied for its role in melanin production and UV-induced pigmentation. It works by stimulating melanocytes to produce eumelanin.
⚠️ UV exposure is required for efficacy. Melanotan I does not produce meaningful pigmentation without UV light exposure. Research protocols pair it with controlled, gradual UV exposure. Results are not achievable without a UV source.
Research protocol: Seasonal — pre-season loading phase followed by a full-season maintenance phase. Protocol is not for year-round continuous use.
